Developing Women’s Agenda for Peacebuilding in Nigeria
A four-day workshop was jointly organized by the Women, Peace and Development Initiatives (WPDI) in collaboration with the Abdulsalami Abubakar Institute for Peace and Sustainable Development Studies (AAIPSDS) Minna at the Merit House Abuja with the theme, Developing Women’s Agenda for Peacebuilding in Nigeria. Participants, who came from all over the federation, were drawn from women organizations and civil society groups, grassroots groups including market women, the academia, political parties, the civil service, the media, etc. The aim of the workshop was to sensitize and build capacities of women for peace building.

Affiliation with the University of Jos
An Inspection from the University of Jos headed by Prof. Jamila Nasir visited the Institute on 21st - 23rd April 2009 in order to affiliate the Professional Diploma in Peace and Sustainable Development Studies. Currently, the University has finally approved the affiliation of this programme.
||The former provost, Prof. Ibrahim A. Kolo has completed his term last September, 2009 and He has been appointed the Vice Chancellor Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Niger State which is the State owned University. The Institute wishes Him a successful tenure.
Valedictory Academic Board Meeting
A valedictory Academic Board Meeting was held in honour of Prof Ibrahim A. Kolo, the outgone provost, Niger State College of Education for successfully completing two terms in office. The valedictory Academic Board meeting was held on 24th September, 2009. He was commended for the significant role played in the establishment of the Institute and also for His willingness to collaborate with PANAFSTRAG.
4th Anual United Nations' International Peace Day
The Institute hosted it's 4th Anual United Nations' International Peace Day Lecture Series in collaboration with Niger State Government on 23rd September, 2009 UK Bello Art Theatre, Minna.
The guest speaker was the chief servant of Niger State, Dr. Mu'azu Babangida Aliyu, OON(Talba Minna) the State Governor of Niger State.
The topic of the guest lecture was "The Review of The Constitution andThe Stability of Nigeria"
Other Disscussants were the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Chairman Senate Commitee on constitution review, Prof. Fred Onyeoziri, Political Adviser to the National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, Prof. Ibrahim A. Kolo, Vice Chansellor, IBBU, Lapai and Ms Miannaya Essien, SAN.

Ogidi paid a courtesy to the newly appointed provost Prof. Farouk Rashid Haruna on the 29th September 2009. He congratulated the provost on His appointment and pledged His continous support to the College and the Institute.
